Abstract
One of the most important miraculous aspects of the Holy Quran, which has attracted the attention of non-Muslims and Orientalists in addition to the Quran scholars, is its verbal or literary miracle. Zakaria Botros, an Egyptian-born priest who is known for his critical approach towards Islam and the Qur'an, in an article, has denied the miracle of the Qur'an's expression by citing several verses that he claims do not conform to the written rules of Arabic literature. This denial is based on the doubt of the incompatibility of the verses of the Qur'an with the written rules of Arabic literature and the doubt of the authority of the written rules to evaluate the verses of the Qur'an. The conclusion of the current research is that there is no inconsistency between the written rules of Arabic grammar and the verses of the Qur'an, and the doubt of incompatibility between the two is the result of a lack of accurate knowledge of the grammar rules. Also, the rules of Arabic literature were compiled after the compilation of the Holy Quran and by referring to the verses of this divine book, to prevent mistakes in its reading and understanding. Therefore, the validity of the written rules depends on the harmony with the verses of the Qur'an. Thus, the doubt about the validity of written rules for evaluating the Holy Quran is contrary to obvious historical facts, so, knowing and paying attention to the true position of the Holy Quran and the written rules of Arabic literature, reveals the invalidity of the doubt.
